Hygiene and safety protocol

Dear guests,

We hope you and your families are well and you are all healthy in these uncertain and unprecedented times.

We hereby inform you of our latest updates. We are very happy to inform you that you will soon be able to spend your vacation in the sunny south of Crete again. We reopen on:

Of course, we open again with a very specific hygiene and cleaning protocol. Below you will find all the details about your stay with us and which templates we all adhere to so that you can spend a healthy and unforgettable holiday on Crete.

The management and all members of our team work to ensure that all preventive measures comply with the guidelines of the World Health Organization and EODY. These have been developed to protect against viruses, including COVID-19, and range from hand washing hygiene to the usual cleaning procedure for our accommodation areas and rooms.

Our team carries out the cleaning of all hosting areas strictly according to the cleaning, hygiene and disinfection protocols. These protocols include:

  • Regular training of our employees on the subject of "cleaning and hygiene"
  • Everywhere clearly defined cleaning and disinfection cycles.
  • Hand disinfectant placed in a clearly visible position
  • Regular cleaning and disinfection of common areas and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Immediate response to emergency cleaning.

Below you can find our action plan:

Hotel organization

  1. Social distances - In the public areas of our facility, such as the reception, all members of our team keep a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters between them and the guests.
  2. Check-in & Check-out - Check-in is possible from 3:00 p.m. and later and check-out must take place before 11:00 a.m. to ensure that the accommodations are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between different guests and that adequate natural ventilation is provided.
  3. Cleaning program - All our accommodations in our facility in Matala are cleaned only on request of the guest and our holiday homes in Pitsidia once a week. Bed linen and towels are changed once a week in all of our accommodations.
  4. Reception - The reception in our facility in Matala will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with all necessary hygiene measures (Sundays closed).
  5. Visiting holidaymakers who do not live with us - holidaymakers who do not live with us are prohibited from entering all of our accommodations.

Hygiene and disinfection

  1. Disinfectant distributors and disposable masks - In the entrance area of our facility, disinfectant distributors and disposable masks are available for our guests free of charge.
  2. Housing cleaning - Extensive new cleaning processes are used to provide better protection against potential viruses and Covid-19. Every time a visitor departs, the rooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before the next arrival. The most frequently used areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens, and items such as TV remote controls, door knobs and electrical switches, are treated and disinfected with special care. The disinfection of curtains is made with steam cleaner (temperature> 70 ° C) before each new arrival. Our cleaners will always wear a mask and gloves before entering your accommodation.
  3. Public areas of our facility - We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection in public areas, with a focus on the reception and shared bathrooms. All public areas are disinfected regularly.

In areas where our employees work, we increase the frequency of cleaning and focus particularly on areas and surfaces such as entrances, luggage and the laundry room.

We take all hygiene and cleaning standards very seriously and take all possible measures to ensure the safety of our visitors, employees and partners.

Our management and all of our employees monitor the statements of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization regarding the COVID-19 virus.

Our management works daily to ensure that the latest hygiene guidelines are observed. Our property's health and safety measures target a variety of viruses, including COVID-19, and range from standard laundry and personal care products to guest rooms and public areas of our hotel.

In the case of an infected guest

In case of a COVID-19 infected person in one of our accommodations, we will immediately contact the relevant health authority to report the incident and receive instructions on the steps to be followed both by the sick visitor and his partner.

We will conduct an additional protocol for cleaning and disinfecting the public areas of the hotel, as well as those areas that we know the guest was staying during our stay with us.

We also seal the guest's room (e.g. prevents employees or other people from entering) and carry out a protocol to restore the room, which disinfects everything in the room.

We are very proud of all the employees of our company who show a very high degree of individual, social and professional responsibility under these unprecedented circumstances, and we particularly appreciate every visitor who honors us with their presence in our facilities.
